Bio and Information
My passion for nutrition and wellness stems from an interest in how we have the power to manipulate our diet for optimal health. Nourishing our bodies to achieve our highest potential for health is an ability that everyone has; the key is to realize this potential and learn how to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
I believe that food is a form of medicine. By better managing what we eat, many diseases can be prevented or improved greatly. Modern society has created the fad diet craze and a black and white thought pattern surrounding food. When we allow ourselves to see food as a friend, rather than an enemy, benefits will be evident. I chose the field of nutrition because I find health science fascinating, and I believe that nutrition is the foundation of health. I have found that Vermont is the ideal area to practice nutrition because of the energy and interest of the community as well as our abundant resources to cultivate a healthy lifestyle.
My interests in nutrition include wellness, weight management, chronic disease prevention and management. A developing interest of mine is sports nutrition. A fundamental piece of wellness is fitness and physical activity; the benefits for the mind and body are infinite when a synergy between fitness and nutrition occurs the results are immense.
